The ZXT Carbon Fiber is tomorrow's tandem today. By using carbon fiber materials to its full advantage we are able to create a non-traditional tandem frame. The composite materials allows us to do things that would be impossible in metal. The traditional triangular tandem frame, be it the marathon, direct lateral, double diamond or whatever is gone, to give way to a more aerodynamic sculpted frame. We designed the bottom boom tube (the tube between the two bottom brackets) out of the frame, by strengthing and stiffening different sections of the frame with out compormising performance. The resulting ZXT frame design is by far the most aerodynamic tandem your money can buy. There's just no other aerodynamic tandem frame design produced to compare us with. You can feel the areodymanic advantage of this bike at high speeds.

Excellent power translation and comfort is achieved both through the use of composites and the geometry of the frame. The strength of carbon fiber material allows us to make the back of the bike longer for ample room for the stoker without sacrificing weight or frame flex. The frame is laterally stiff, yet vertically compliant which gives it unsurpassed comfort and climbing performance. This is the ultimate aero-art tandem design.

Carbon Fiber:

The advantages of carbon fiber on a larger frame like a tandem is even greater than a single frame. Composite materials are a mixture of high strength fibers and a matrix (or glue) which binds the fibers together. We hand lay-up a 33 million modulus carbon fiber in cloth and uni-directional tape form. The matrix is an ambient curing high strength aircraft grade epoxy. The carbon fiber and the epoxy matrix has the best strength to weight ratio of any material in the world.

Aerodynamic:

The ZXT is by far the most aerodynamic tandem in the world. There is no comparison; know body designs or builds a custom carbon fiber tandem or just a tandem that is even remotely similar to the ZXT frame geometry. The simplified frame geometry has about 30% less leading edges than a typical tandem frame. All the cables, front to back are internally routed inside the frame, which further enhances the aerodynamics. The advantages are unsurpassed by any available tandem.

Custom Frame:

Not only is the ZXT a unique frame design, but its a custom built carbon fiber tandem made to order. The frame is designed to you and your stokers body measurements from the ground up. We even size and custom build the rear stokers head stem. We go out of our way to make the best fitting tandem available.

The ZXT frame geometry may look totally different from a typical triangular tandem, but we use proven frame geometry. We design within the proven tandem frame geometry, such as head tube and seat tube angles that has worked for years. What we do customize is the seat height and "top tube" lenghts, such that a comfortable riding position is achieved.
